I have been on a quest over the last few years to try as many different whey protein powders as I could within reason. For a while I was content with a certain brand (not going to name names) but I just ended up getting bored with the same protein powder day in and day out.
I consume at least two whey protein shakes a day to meet my daily protein requirements so drinking the same formula over and over can get a little tiresome.
After some googling around I came across a company called “My Protein.” I thought the name was a little gimmicky but I proceeded to browse their site to see what they had to offer.
At first glance I was pretty impressed with the amount of products they had to offer. Digging further I started to look at the whey protein products and quickly realized that the prices were some of the lowest I’d seen in a while. Thinking this might result in a lower quality product I started to look at the nutrition facts and ingredients.
The nutrition facts and ingredients were some of the best I’d seen in a while as well. The whey protein powders are highly filtered which is why they’re so low in carbs and fat. At this point I started to check out the flavors and was impressed with the amount of flavors that they had to offer.
MyProtein had a great promotional offer running at the time. I believe it was 45% off all items in the store. Between the price, nutrition, and flavors I decided to buy a 5.5lb bag of Chocolate Smooth and a 5.5lb bag of Salted Caramel.
Below is my comprehensive review of MyProtein Impact Whey Chocolate and MyProtein Impact Whey Salted Caramel.
According to the MyProtein website, MyProtein Impact Whey protein is a premium whey packed with 19g of protein per serving (25g). This means that 76% of each serving is pure protein.
MyProtein Impact Whey is ranked Grade A by independent tester Labdoor for both quality and value,
It’s important to note that MyProtein Impact Whey Protein is a whey concentrate. This means that it’s not as refined as a whey isolate. All this really means is that it has slightly more carbs and fat per serving than a whey isolate. It’s still a high quality whey protein product.
Serving Size 1 scoop (25g)

Taste, Texture and Mixability
If you weren’t sold on the nutrition facts alone then this is where MyProtein Impact Whey Protein really shines.
The taste of both the chocolate smooth and the salted caramel are pretty incredible. I’ve tried countless brands including but not limited to Optimum, Dymatize, BSN, BPI, MTS Nutrition, and MyProtein’s flavoring system crushes them all.
The chocolate smooth is rich and the salted caramel gives you that perfect sweet and salty combo. The sweetness is not overpowering and there’s no artificial, chemical taste. It honestly is one of the best tasting protein powders I’ve had to date.
Texture & Mixability
The texture depends on how much liquid you add to the powder. I use water or almond milk in a plastic shaker cup, with no metal mixing ball, and the powder mixes easily and very well. There’s never any clumps. The less liquid you use the thicker the shake will be so you’ll have to use trial and error to get it the way that you like it. I personally find that 8-10 ounces of water or almond milk works well with 2 scoops of powder.
As of this writing the following flavors were available for the MyProtein Impact Whey Protein:
- Birthday Cake
- Chocolate Brownie
- Chocolate Brownie Batter
- Chocolate Caramel Pretzel
- Chocolate Mint
- Chocolate Smooth
- Chocolate Stevia
- Cinnamon Roll
- Cookies and Cream
- French Toast
- Glazed Donut
- Peanut Popcorn
- Rocky Road
- Salted Caramel
- Strawberry Amaretto
- Strawberry Cream
- Vanilla Stevia
As you can see they have an extensive list of flavors. The hardest part is picking one!
Value For Your Money
At the time of this writing, and before any discounts are applied, a 5.5lb bag of MyProtein Impact Whey Protein is $62.99. However, MyProtein is always running some kind of sale. I usually find it pretty easy to find anywhere from a 35% – 50% off offer running almost weekly. So if you use a 45% off coupon then this 5.5lb bag would cost you $34.64. That’s an amazing deal for 5.5lbs of whey protein. It’s definitely one of the most competitive prices on the market today.
How Well Does It Work
At the end of the day protein powder is just food. It’s not a magic bullet or potion that will give you dramatic results overnight. However if you engage in intense training or are just looking to increase your daily protein intake then this is a great product for you.
Whey protein digests extremely fast so it’s best taken both pre and post workout.
Shipping seems to be pretty fast. I always use the standard option which states 5-7 days for delivery but I always receive my order in less than a week.
I’d also like to note that I’ve never had an issue with any of my orders. Everything I’ve ordered has come on time and with the right items.
I am a huge fan of MyProtein and their products. I’ve been using their whey protein powders for over two years. MyProtein Impact Whey Protein is a delicious option for anyone looking to increase their daily protein intake. The prices are some of the best on the market and their flavoring system is one of the best. I highly recommend this product and company to anyone who is looking for high quality and great tasting products.
