Introduction
It seems like everyday a new product shows up on tv claiming that they can help skyrocket your natural testosterone levels. They make all of these outrageous claims that you’ll feel like a teenager again, have an increased libido, build muscle, and burn fat faster. Now, these are all benefits of elevated levels of testosterone, but do these products really raise your levels enough to cause such a dramatic difference? In this video I talk about my experience with taking natural testosterone boosters and the results I’ve had with them.
What Is Testosterone
Testosterone is a hormone found in humans, as well as in other animals. The testicles primarily make testosterone in men. Women’s ovaries also make testosterone, though in much smaller amounts. Testosterone production starts to increase significantly during puberty, and begins to dip after age 30 or so. Research actually shows that 1 in 4 men over the age of 30 experience low testosterone. That’s 25% of all men over the age of 30!
Testosterone is most often associated with sex drive, and plays a vital role in sperm production. But it also affects bone and muscle mass, the way men store fat in the body, and even red blood cell production. A man’s testosterone levels can also affect his mood.
Low levels of testosterone can produce a variety of symptoms in men, including:
- Decreased sex drive
- Lack of energy
- Weight gain
- Feelings of depression
- Feelings of anxiety
- Irritablity
- Thinner bones
- Low self-esteem
- Less body hair
It is extremely important for men over the age of 30 to get their hormone levels tested. Low levels of testosterone and estrogen can actually lead to premature death. I know it’s really not something a lot of people think about, but getting your blood work done a few times a year becomes more critical the older your become, especially if you’re experiencing symptoms of low testosterone.
